What a royal pain: ancient interviewer Larry King [pictured right]has filed for divorce from his wife of 13 years, Shawn Southwick, citing "irreconcilable differences." The L.A. Time's Ministry of Gossip blog noted that Southwick is King's seventh wife, but his eighth marriage because he wed and divorced wife Alene Akins twice.
Shawn Southwick, a former actress who is 26 years his junior, is now a part-time country singer under the stage name Shawn King. TMZ says she's claiming their family home in Beverly Hills as property separate from the marriage and notes that "Back in 2007, Shawn had bragged about being the only one of Larry's wives to have made it into 'the two digits.'"
"It's a very sad day in Larry's life and he hopes the divorce will be amicable," said King's attorney Susan Carter.
The couple has two sons, Chance, 11, and Cannon, 9. King is said to be requesting joint custody of the children.
