Former President Bill Clinton walks his daughter, Chelsea Clinton, down the aisle at her wedding ceremony on Saturday in Rhinebeck, N.Y.

Chelsea Clinton wed her longtime boyfriend under extraordinary security in an interfaith ceremony at an elegant Hudson River estate late Saturday.

Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton announced in a statement that their daughter wed investment banker Marc Mezvinsky after weeks of secrecy and buildup that had celebrity watchers flocking to the small village of Rhinebeck for the evening nuptials. The site of the wedding, a Beaux Arts riverside estate called Astor Courts, was sealed off from the general public.

"Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends," the Clintons said. "We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family. On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day."

Chelsea Clinton, wearing a Vera Wang strapless white gown with a full skirt and silver beading around the waist and carrying a bouquet of white flowers, was escorted down the aisle by her father. The former president and the groom wore dark suits, while the mother of the bride wore a fuchsia dress designed by Oscar de la Renta.

Alisema kutokana na tukio lililompata juzi, sasa anawasiliana na wanasheria wake kuona achukue hatua gani dhidi ya maafisa wa Takukuru waliodai kumkamata kwa rushwa.

Waziri Sitta alisema kwamba juzi saa 7:30 usiku aliamshwa kwa mlio wa simu ya Catheri Sepetu iliyomwomba afike gesti ya Camise kuona mtoto mgonjwa.

"Niliomba anielekeze gesti hiyo iko wapi ili niende kumwona huyo mgonjwa," alisema Mama Sitta.

Mama Sitta alidai kwamba kutokana kutoyafahamu maeneo hayo alimwomba katibu mwenenzi CCM wa Tabora wafuatane katika maeneo hayo aliyoambiwa na Sepetu.

Alisema alipofika karibu na njia ya kwenda katika gesti hiyo, wakatokea vijana zaidi ya sita na kusimamisha gari alipowahoji nyie ni nani ndipo walipotoa vitambulisho na kujitambulisha kwamba wao ni Takukuru na kumweka chini ya ulinzi.

Alisema walimchukua hadi ofisini kwao na kuanza kumpekua huku wakimwambia alikuwa akigawa rushwa kwa wajumbe.

"Nikahoji huyo ndio mgonjwa mliokuwa mnaniitia? Hawakumjibu badala yake waliendelea kunipekua mkoba wangu na mkoba wa mdogo wangu na kumwamrisha katibu mwenezi, Rashid Ramadhan akubali kwamba alikuwa akigawa fedha," alisema Sitta.

"Katibu huyo alibaki anaduwaa kwani alichokuwa anajua ni kumsindikiza waziri kwa mgonjwa. Alishangaa kulazimishwa aandike maelezo kueleza kina nanni alikuwa anawagawia fedha. Akajibu siwezi kuandika wongo," alisema.

Owens, Bengals agree to one-year deal

Terrell Owens has found an NFL home.

The Cincinnati Bengals and the controversial wide receiver agreed to a one-year contract Tuesday, according to multiple reports. The deal is worth $4 million ($2 million in base salary, $2 million in incentives), according to Profootballtalk.com.

Fellow Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco confirmed the news on his Twitter account with: "My homeboy is a Bengal all our games have been moved to pay-per-view."

The Bengals report for training camp Wednesday in Georgetown, Ky. Owens is expected to arrive for the first day of workouts Thursday.

The 36-year-old Owens is playing for his sixth NFL team. He played for the 49ers from 1996-2003, the Eagles from 2004-2005, the Cowboys from 2006-2008 and the Bills in 2009.

The Bengals signed free-agent WR Antonio Bryant to a four-year, $29 million deal back in March and were seemingly looking good at the receiver position. Bryant was signed to start opposite Ochocinco, but Bryant dealt with knee problems most of last season.

Hail To The Fugee? Wyclef To Run For President Of Haiti?

Singer Wyclef Jean is considering a run for president of Haiti but has not decided whether to seek a five-year term as leader of the quake-ravaged nation, the musician’s family said Monday.

There have been rumors for some time the Haitian-born entertainer might enter the 2010 presidential contest, ever since his 2007 appointment as ambassador-at-large for the Caribbean nation by President Rene Preval, who cannot seek re-election.

In a statement e-mailed to reporters, the family said, “Wyclef’s commitment to his homeland and its youth is boundless, and he will remain its greatest supporter regardless of whether he is part of the government moving forward … If and when a decision is made, media will be alerted immediately.”

The letter was signed “The Jean Family.” A spokeswoman for the musician confirmed the message’s authenticity.

Jean, 37, was born on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince but left the hemisphere’s poorest country as a child and grew up in New York City’s borough of Brooklyn.

He told The Associated Press in a recent interview he intended to be involved in the Nov. 28 election, but not necessarily as a candidate.

More big shots in court

More big shots will be taken to court on Monday in connection with the online frauds that saw Tanzania Revenue Authority losing an estimated Sh115 billion ($77million), The Guardian on Sunday has reliably learnt.

The big shots will join other six suspects who were taken to court on Thursday and Friday, this week in connection with theft of the taxman’s billions.

According to a reliable source within the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau(PCCB), the four more suspects are accused of conspiring to steal billions of shillings through forged documents, money laundering and frauds.

However our source declined to name the suspects who will be taken to court tomorrow, saying that would jeopardise the planned procesutions.

Contacted for comment on Friday, the PCCB Chief, Dr Edward Hosea, said, “It’s true…more big shots will be charged on Monday after we have fully completed our indepth investigation.”

“We have established massive frauds involving local banks, public owned corporations and private companies…But I think it was high time the local bank changed its recruitment system because the current one is full of fraudsters.” The PCCB Chief told The Guardian on Sunday.

The big shots are part of the syndicate that planned and executed a massive financial fraud that saw the Tanzania Revenue Authority lose an estimated $77million between June 2008 and May 2009.

Five local companies operating in Dar es Salaam received the big chunk of stolen billions, acting in the same capacity in which the 13 companies that looted taxpayers’ billions in the External Payment Arrears account (EPA) scandal benefited.

Obama apologizes to Sherrod


President Barack Obama called Shirley Sherrod Thursday to apologize for her dismissal and urge her to accept a promotion, but the Agriculture Department official, who was forced out on unfounded charges of racism, kept mum on her future plans.

Obama had tried to call her twice on Wednesday night but couldn’t connect with Sherrod, according to an administration official. West Wing staffers were attempting to call her again when she returned the president’s calls at about 12:35 p.m.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Sherrod and Obama talked for about seven minutes, and “the president expressed his apology about the events of the past several days.” Obama also told the 62-year-old grandmother that Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack “had been extremely sincere” when he publicly apologized to Sherrod and offered to rehire her.

Vilsack forced Sherrod to resign on the basis of a heavily edited Web video posted on a conservative website that purportedly showed Sherrod confessing to reverse discrimination. After Vilsack’s apology Wednesday, Sherrod took to the airwaves to say she’d appreciate a call from the president.

Once Jordan and the Bulls finally solved his chief nemesis, and their archrivals, Thomas' Pistons, in 1991, Jordan did beat all comers in the '90s, with the Bulls winning six titles over eight seasons.

Vilsack, White House apologize to former USDA official

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said Wednesday he apologized to Shirley Sherrod for forcing her to resign from her government job in Georgia based on incomplete and misleading reports of a speech she gave.

Vilsack told reporters that he alone made the decision regarding Sherrod, with no White House involvement.

He spoke to Sherrod earlier Wednesday and said he asked for her forgiveness, which she gave. Vilsack also said he offered Sherrod another job in the department, and she was taking a few days to think about it.

"She's a good woman -- she's been put through hell," Vilsack said of Sherrod. He admitted acting too hastily in the case, acknowledging that he was focused on reversing a history of racial discrimination at the agriculture department.

In an interview with CNN later Wednesday, Sherrod said she told Vilsack she accepted his apology and that "we could move on." She also acknowledged being "really hurt" earlier this week by accusations of racism due to the portions of her speech made public.

Sherrod, who is African-American, was forced out after conservative website blogger Andrew Breitbart posted a portion of a speech she gave in which she spoke of not offering her full help to a white farmer. The original post by Breitbart indicated the incident Sherrod mentioned occurred when she worked for the agriculture department, and news outlets quickly picked up on the story.

Mel Gibson's Family Stands by Him During Oksana Drama

Even as Mel Gibson is embroiled in a nasty legal battle with his former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva and faces fall-out from a series of rage-filled leaked audiotapes, the embattled actor can count on at least one thing: his family.

"He has a good support system in his friends and family," a pal tells PEOPLE, adding that his kids are "absolutely" standing by their father.

Gibson regularly speaks to his soon-to-be-ex wife, Robyn, with whom he has seven children from their nearly 30-year marriage. "They are continuing to raise their kids together," a source says of the former couple, who split in April 2009.

It was Robyn who came to Gibson's defense, filing an affidavit last Thursday swearing he was never abusive during his ongoing custody battle with Grigorieva, who is accusing the actor of hitting her.

According to the source, "Mel didn't ask Robyn for the affidavit,
 where she says that he never engaged in any physical abuse towards her. 
Robyn just felt that enough is enough and stepped in to show that she
 still values her marriage to Mel and that she is sick of the media 
portraying Mel as a heartless and abusive monster."

"Robyn feels that Mel
 was and is an amazing dad," the source says, "and she is still very protective of him."

Akizungumza na HABARILEO kwa hisia kali, mbunge huyo alisema kwamba, katika maisha yake hapendi unafiki, hivyo amefanya uamuzi kulingana na dhamira yake ilivyomtuma.

Alisisitiza kwamba, hakushawishiwa na yeyote, bali amevutwa na utendaji mzuri wa CCM inayotekeleza kwa vitendo Ilani zake, chini ya ujemedari wa Rais Kikwete.

Aidha, alichukua fursa hiyo kuishukuru CUF kwa kumpa ushirikiano na heshima ya kuwa mmoja wa wabunge wake katika kipindi chote alichokuwa na chama hicho.

Levi Johnston’s Sister: Mom ‘Very Upset’ Over Engagement To Bristol Palin

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Sherry Johnston shed tears when she learned that her son, Levi Johnston, was getting engaged to on-off girlfriend Bristol Palin.

However, they weren’t tears of joy.

In a blog entry titled “Who needs coffee when you wake up to find news this shocking,” Levi’s younger sister, Mercede, described her family’s outrage at having to find out about Levi’s upcoming nuptials from a magazine.

Mercede, 18, recounted how she woke up on Wednesday to find her mother, Sherry, with her laptop and a “beautiful picture of Levi, Brisol, and Tripp on the cover of US Weekly.” The magazine had reported the news of the couple’s engagement that same day.

“I looked up to see that my mom was upset, with tears running down her face, yet still trying to console my other family members who were texting her and sending messages via Facebook saying they were very upset that they had to find out about this engagement from the media and not from Levi himself. I sent a message telling them not to feel too badly since even his own mother and sister had to find out that way,” Mercede wrote.

Despite her family’s shock and dismay, Mercede took some time to reflect upon the situation and offer her brother some advice.

“I sure hope this is a sincere decision that you have thought through carefully Levi, and that it will bring you happiness,” she wrote.

Mercede also questioned the couple’s motives for getting married.

Awali balozi wa Marekani nchini Uganda, alisema kuwa kuna haja ya kuongeza usaidizi wa kijeshi wa Marekani nchini Uganda kufuatia shambulio la kigaidi lililofanyika nchini humo.

Balozi Jerry Lanier amesema kuwa shambulio hilo ni ishara kuwa kundi la wapiganaji wa Al Shabaab linalenga hata raia nje ya Somalia.

Bilal aweka hadharani ya moyoni mwake

MGOMBEA mwenza wa urais wa Muungano kwa tiketi ya CCM, Dk Mohamed Gharib Bilal jana alitia fora wakati CCM ilipotambulisha wagombea wake mjini Dodoma.

Dk Bilal aliteuliwa na mwenyekiti wa CCM, Jakaya Kikwete kuwa mgombea mwenza kwenye kinyang'anyiro cha urais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano, ikiwa ni siku moja baada ya kuangushwa kwenye mbio za urais wa Zanzibar.

Hafla hiyo, ambayo iliandaliwa na CCM mkoani Dodoma na kufanyika kwenye Uwanja wa Jamhuri mjini hapa, ilikuwa ni sehemu ya utamaduni wa CCM kutambulisha wagombea wake baada ya kuteuliwa na kupitishwa na chama.

Dk Bilal alikuwa wa kwanza kutambulishwa na Kikwete na alikuwa kivutio katika hotuba yake iliyojaa maneno ya hekima, busara na wosia, na hivyo kusisimua wananchi waliofurika.

Mara kwa mara hotuba yake ilikatishwa na kelele za furaha kutoka kwa mamia ya wana CCM na wananchi waliohudhuria tukio hilo lililosindikizwa na burudani za wasanii tofauti.

Dk Bilali alisema: “Naahidi nitafanya kazi ya kumsaidia kwa moyo, uwezo na ujasiri wangu wote, nitatembea kusini, mashariki, kaskazini, magharibi visiwani na bara kutetea na kuinua ilani ya CCM ya mwaka 2010.”

“Nitafanya yote kwa mujibu wa katiba na maelekezo ya rais ili kuleta ushindi wa CCM pia nitamsaidia rais mtarajiwa wa Zanzibar kuleta ushindi wa CCM Zanzibar na kuweka nguvu, upendo na mshikamano Zanzibar na Bara," alisema Dk Bilal.

Bilal alisema kuwa kwa pamoja kwa kushirikiana na mgombea huyo atahakikisha CCM inashinda visiwani Zanzibar na kuvunja makundi.

“Nitafanya kazi ya kumsaidia kuimarisha CCM kuipa sura mpya Zanzibar ili kuboresha maisha ya wananchi wake. Tutafanya kazi pamoja kuinua imani na nyoyo za Wazanzibar na Tanzania kwa jumla na kuendelea kujenga na kulinda imani ya chama,” alisema.

It's official: LeBron James will play for Miami Heat

In a televised announcement, the NBA star says he will join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in South Florida in hopes of winning an NBA title.

On Thursday night, the former Browns owner Modell, who moved the team out of Cleveland in 1995, no longer stood alone as villain No. 1 among residents.

The sea change became official when the once-beloved and superstar free agent LeBron James of the Cavaliers announced on national television that he would be joining running mates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami.
Three tenors, if you will.

But the sound was not of silence in Cleveland. The note was decidedly sour in northern Ohio, and the move had been long feared and dreaded by Cavalier fans for the last two years.

This announcement was unprecedented, coming in a much-hyped, one-hour-prime-time special on ESPN, called "The Decision" and culminated a particularly frenzied mood of speculative guesswork which kicked into high gear in recent days.

Even President Barack Obama weighed in with his opinions during the process.

All indications are that LeBron James is leaning toward signing with the Miami Heat on Thursday night, according to several sources with knowledge of the situation.

Barring a late change of heart, sources say James has decided to join fellow All-Stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to form a potential NBA powerhouse.

James will make his announcement from the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich, Conn., during an hourlong special called "The Decision" on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET Thursday. Sales of sponsorship for the program will go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

The NBA's marquee free agent showed at his basketball camp Thursday and then left, hours before he was to announce where he'll play next season.

James arrived in midafternoon with former teammate Damon Jones. James wore a T-shirt and shorts and took a seat to watch high school stars play at Cleveland State University.

Some of college basketball's top coaches were on hand, including Duke's Mike Krzyzewski, North Carolina's Roy Williams, West Virginia's Bob Huggins and Syracuse's Jim Boeheim.

Chris Paul, one of James' best friends, has urged him to stay in Cleveland and let new Cavaliers coach Byron Scott coach him, according to sources. With such strong sentiment around him to not go to Miami, it's possible James could alter his decision.

James' family and friends are divided over his decision to play in Miami, according to sources. Opinions range from understanding his desire to play with All-Star teammates, to feeling he is selling himself short by joining Wade's team, to concerns that playing on such a power-packed squad will hurt his brand even if he wins championships.

Kwa muda mrefu sasa Dk Salmin haudhurii mikutana na vikao vya chama kutokana na kusumbuliwa na macho, hali inayoonyesha kuwa hatua ya sasa ya kumpata mgombea urais wa Zanzibar kupitia CCM ina unyeti wake.

Makundi hayo yameunda ushindani mkubwa miongoni mwa wajumbe wa Kamati Kuu na Halmashauri Kuu ya CCM itakayofanyika kesho, mjini Dodoma.

Kwa mujibu wa taarifa tulizozipata kutoka Dodoma wakati wajumbe na wagombea wanaendelea kuwasili, kuna mchuano mkali miongoni mwa makundi ya wapambe wao.

Fununu zaidi kutoka muongoni mwa wajumbe wa CCM zinasema kuna utofuati kati ya wajumbe wa Zanzibar na wa Bara kuhusu uungwaji mkono wa wagombea hao.

Uchunguzi umebaini kwamba, wafuasi wa vigogo hao wamekuwa wakitambiana na kuelekeza kampeni kwa wajumbe wa Halmashauri ya CCM (Nec), ambao ndio watakaopiga kura kumchagua mtu mmoja atakayeshindana na wapinzani katika kinyang'anyiro hicho.

Mwizi arejesha simu kanisani kwa kuhofia adhabu

MTU mmoja aliyesadikiwa kuiba simu mbili katika  Kanisa la Waadventista Wasabato la Magomeni, jijini Dar es Salaam, juzi alilazimika kujisalimisha kwa uongozi wa kanisa hilo kwa kuzirejesha simu hizo akiogopa adhabu kali kutoka kwa Mungu.

Mwizi huyo ambaye hata hivyo jina lake halikuweza kufahamika mara moja, alifanya hivyo baada ya kiongozi mmoja wa kanisa hilo, John Odera, kumtaka arejeshe simu hizo kabla ya kukutana na mkono wa Mungu.

Mzee Odera alitoa tangazo  la kupotea kwa simu hizo na kumtaka aliyezichukua kuzirejesha.

"Kuna mwenzetu mmoja amekuja kusali akijua kuwa wote wanaokuja hapa, wanakuja kwa lengo la kusali na wote ni watakatifu. Hivyo akaacha simu zake mbili hapo akaenda chooni lakini alipotoka hakuzikuta, anajaribu kuzipiga hazipatikani yaani zimezimwa," alisema mzee Odera.

Mzee huyo wa kanisa la alimuomba mtu aliyechukua simu hizo azirejeshe katika ofisi ya wazee wa kanisa hilo au amkabidhi shemasi yeyote na kwamba kama ataamua kuondoka nazo, basi atakutana na mkono wa Mungu.

Baada ya kumaliza tangazo hilo, mzee Odera aliondoka na kupisha taratibu nyingine kuendelea.

Hata hivyo muda mfupi kabla ya mhubiri kusimama, wakati akitoa utambulisho wa waliokuwa wametoa huduma na ambao walikuwa wanatarajia kuendelea kutoa huduma katika ibada hiyo, mwenyekiti wa program hizo aliwatangazia waumini kuwa simu hizo  zimepatikana.

"Habari njema, habari njema ni kwamba zile simu zilizotangazwa hapa kuibwa tayari zimepatika," alisema mwenyekiti huyo na kusabisha waumini kushangilia kwa furaha.
